I'll try this next week again and see what is happening. Windows Update has definitely been weird recently, taking as long as 13 hours (let it run overnight) to finally get the list of updates to install.

Most of the updates I've tried hang at 97% or 98%. Here is another from a different computer. I first posted this in the Windows 7 forum but that is only for notices, sorry. Win 7 Home X64 laptop, 4GB ram, 500GB HDD. Trying to install KB2479943 and it hangs at 98% complete.
