Re: Let’s Chat: Is Windows 7 Really Outdated?

As you probably know, pile on your favourite programs and use the machine for a few years and it will slow down - registry bloat, WU bloat, fragments of half-uninstalled stuff, etc...

Re: How does AP determine "Not applicable to your system"?

The MAIN reason AP can update soo good is because WAC is great about keeping on the updates and usually not missing anything. :) The reason you should also use WU with this is because WU will get system dependent updates/drivers that are not for all people but, for the computer(s) you are working o...

Re: How does AP determine "Not applicable to your system"?

@John_in_Mtl --- [q]A good practice I observe is to make a list of these and attempt to install each one manually, those which are not applicable I then add to the blacklist. I understand, but wouldn't this be pretty much almost unique to each machine/OS installation? For instance, I hardly ever in...

How does AP determine "Not applicable to your system"?

Hello Everyone :) Systems: Win 7 Pro SP1, a bunch of x32 and x64 machines. A simple question: How does AP determine to flag a KB as "Not applicable to your system"? Yesterday I was updating a machine and got a bit more curious than usual as to how AP determines that a patch applies or not,...

Re: AutoPatcher Windows 7 (x64) Updates

More thought will be required on keeping or losing the KB3192403 update. Keep you posted..... And, as if things weren't already complicated enough; I've been reading (on AskWoody.com & Ghacks.net among other places); it appears MS might fix bad security patches but will include the fix in the f...

Re: Microsoft Explains How Windows 7 and 8.1 Will Get Cumulative Updates

Why an either/or? There are a lot of people like myself who would like to only install the security patches and dispense with the rest in those "rollups" as they often have not much added value to an otherwise mature system like windows 7. This already occurs --- the Non Security Rollups ...
