Re: Old forum is ONLINE
Would be nice to import that into this forum (maybe as a readonly subforum initially as a safety measure, then merge after it checks okay?). Most people would probably not notice it like this, and it's a pity to lose all that info. If it's IPB v2.3, there's a big thread with conversion scripts and d...

Re: RTI/script mismatch?
Tried that, same thing. One thing I see is that: http://www.autopatcher.net/releases/extras/_windows_extras_20140418.7z is extracted to modules\ , and the files inside that 7z start at the root. The Detect* directives in http://www.autopatcher.net/releases/extras/autopatcher_extras_20140513.script a...

DOTNET4_PARENT missing or wrong order?
AP's log file reports this: Module 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Standalone Installer)' (unique id: 'dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64') reports 'DOTNET4_PARENT' as its parent, but such module does not exist or is not loaded in the right order. Module 'Update for the .NET Framework 4 (KB2468871-v2)' (unique id...

RTI/script mismatch?
I think there's a mismatch between the RTI and script, or something of the sort. APUP says there are missing files: ***Starting Detection Routine Phase*** Missing file D:\autopatcher2\modules\AddOns\dxcpl_enu.apm Missing file D:\autopatcher2\modules\AddOns\dxcpl_files\directx.cpl Missing file D:\aut...

Re: How to keep only files for XP x86?
Thanks. I'll check more carefully what looked out of place.

Re: What's in RTI files?
If I remove items from the APM files, what would be the effect of the extra files referenced in the RTIs?
BTW, why are the RTI files binary instead of plain text? (They even seem encrypted?)

Re: How's install order handled?
What if the required dependency isn't install? The default mechanism of Microsoft is assumed to do a null install? For example, I installed all "critical" updates separately before any of the others. I'll have to have a look again, but I had the impression some updates appeared only on the...

How's install order handled?
I assume some updates require being installed after other updates. How is this resolved when AP applies the updates?
What about dependencies across "packages" (RTI files)?

What's in RTI files?
I'm curious about a few AP/APUP details. What's in RTI files? Why are some compressed (.rtiz) and others aren't? Why do some packages leave behind an MD5 file and some don't? Is the way to remove a "package" just to delete the RTI/RTIZ file for it, any related APM, and anything mentioned i...

How to keep only files for XP x86?
For use with the actual patcher, what's the way to keep only the files for XP x86, deleting any NT6 and x64 ones?
Is there also a way to prevent redownloading these files again from APUP?
