Solution for Win 7 and Autopatcher

Post by robwolfe »

I think I have confirmed a solution for Autopatcher and Win 7. It worked for me on a fresh install of Win 7 Home, and two other machines, one Pro and the other Home that needed updates. All were 64 bit. I simply went into the Control Panel and turned off Windows updates. In one case I did not bother rebooting just to see. All three machines updated, no hangs, and no need to start and stop services.

I confirm this work every time after a fresh windows installation. I've been using this way to update windows successfully every time. *During Windows installation just choose "ask me later" when Windows update options appear.*
